Timothy Apostle Of Paul

Timothy was a apostle of Paul, and is one of Pauls closest friends and a spiritual son of Paul. Timothy was invited to go with Paul on his second missionary journey. Timothy was very important to Paul, because he eventually was one of Pauls right hand men. He helped Paul start many churches while on Paul's second missionary journey. Paul wrote to Timothy because Timothy was a young pastor that Paul was building up, at this time Paul was getting older and needed someone to help take over for him. Patrick, Thank you for making very insightful contributions to our discussion this week. You declare, the Apostle "Paul's reaffirms that the only thing we need concern ourselves with is the will of God. Memorizing these lines and repeating them daily they become the Christian mantra to become mindful in the mindfulness of Jesus. " I concur with your credo. A vast amount of Christians has already conformed themselves with the will of the universe, rather than the will of God.…

The reading over these past few weeks covered a pretty expansive timeline. Starting in 1534 with the founding of the Society of Jesus, the Jesuits, on to The Council of Trent in 1545, and through the issuance of both The Doctrine of Papal Infallibility, 1870, and The Doctrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,1950, our readings covered a span of more than four hundred years of Church history. During this era, of which we now identify as the period of Counter-Reform of the Catholic Church, one character stood out for me quite brilliantly, Pope Paul III. Pope Paul III, in the midst of an era of rebuking authority, growing nationalism, and tremendous divide within the Christian Church, managed to redirect a tidal wave of dissent.…

He is a big figure in not only the development of Christianity, but also its separation from the Jewish religion. Paul stressed that Christianity was not just a sect of Judaism by teaching that Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Judaism and that he was the son of God (Patton, lecture). He preached that Jesus’ teachings were open to all, which was an idea exclusive to Christianity. The main thing that separated Christianity from Judaism is that the disciples would seek out people to convert. Until the trial of St. Paul in Rome, the Roman authorities did not distinguish between the new sect of Christians and the Jews (Abels).…

Author: Paul is clearly the author of the book of Romans as it is stated in Romans 1:1 that he is the author of this book. Before Paul’s salvation, he was known as a great persecutor of the Christians the evidence of this would be in Acts 7:58, Acts 8:1, Acts 9:1-2, and Philippians 3:5-6 all of this scripture furthers the truth that Paul was known for being a persecutor of Christians at this time in his life. His salvation came at the Damascus Road in Acts 9 where his name changed from Saul to Paul once he accepted Christ. Paul’s family is rarely mentioned in scripture there is no account of any reference to whether or not he had a wife or children, but he does refer to Timothy as his son in the faith. He is the author of the book of Romans…

The Apostle John, having been exiled to the Isle of Patmos by Roman Emperor, Domitian, writes in the first chapter of the Book of Revelation that he was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day and was privileged to see a vision of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. It is in that vision that we read about Him Who is “like unto the Son of man”, and the majestic description of the Lord in all His glory as He walks among seven golden candlesticks. What does all of that glittery language mean? The candlesticks were local New Testament churches, the stars are the pastors of them, and the majestic Christ holding them in His hand is their Commander-in-Chief. John recorded in the tenth verse that he heard a “great voice” and in the very next verse he was directed to write to seven local churches in Asia.…
