Timebound and City of Bones are alike in many ways, but also differ in many ways. They are similar in that the main protagonists in both books care so deeply for their friends that they would do anything to get them back. They are similar also because the main protagonists are both related to the evil villains or antagonists in the story. City of Bones differs from Timebound because at the end the protagonist finds out about a sibling they never knew they had. Therefore, Timebound and City of Bones are both great books that are alike and different in many ways.
Timebound and City of Bones are alike in that Kate and Clary care so deeply for their friends that they would od anything to get them back. In one example, in Timebound, “(...) You made that boy a promise. Even if it isn’t exactly the same as the relationship you remember … the video will explain everything. I placed the manila envelope in his lap” (Walker 360-361). This proves that Kate risks changing the timelines by giving Trey the envelope with the DVD, but wants Trey back so much that she takes that risk. Also, in City of Bones, “The vampires’ lair. That’s where they went, isn’t it … We need to get there right away. Do …show more content…
He just didn’t know it yet … There’s a DVD in this envelope, videos that you made, that will explain everything” (Walker 360-361). This shows that Kate really wanted to get Trey to remember the great times they had. Additionally, in City of Bones, “Jocelyn is your mother, Jonathan. And Clary-Clary is your sister” (Clare 441). This shows that Valentine was Jace and Clary’s father who lied about someone else being Jace’s father who died. It also proves that Clary found out that Jace and her were siblings at the same moment that Jace found out. In conclusion, Kate wanting Trey to remember her was different from finding out that you have a sibling you never knew about like Clary found out about
