Time-Out Negative Reinforcement Trap

Every parent used different technique rearing on their children, and every parent child relationship is different. There is not only one way to parenting children. There are two categorizes I have read in the book so far. Which are negative reinforcement trap and time-out Negative reinforcement trap actually means a punishment for a bad behavior. For example, when you give a kid candy to make them quiet and the kid is actually encouraging to make more noise because they perceive the candy as a reward for the noise. Time- Out is a discipline technique that many parents found that it’s effective way to improving their children’s behavior. The one technique I remember my parents used when I was young is Time-Out. When my parents put me in time-out. I had to sit and faced the wall in my living room. My parents usually give me one warning before they put me in time out.

My three years old nephew is obsessed with Spiderman. I know some kids fall into this but I think he is overboard. He usually puts on and morphs into Spiderman. He crawls all over the floor. He has to wear Spiderman almost every day. Every morning when he wakes up, the first thing he wants to watch is Spiderman. Sometimes, my nephew even wants to eat food in front of the T.V while his watching Spiderman. Watching T.V has positive and negative effect on children. Some children can learn good things about watching T.V. there are a lot of programs that kids can learn reading and alphabet. Research shows that that T.V is powerful influence. Some children become more aggressive after viewing violence on TV and most children learn gender stereotypes from watching TV. Therefore, most impact of watching TV for good and bad comes from through the content of TV programs that children
