Busy managers are always on the go. They have noisy phones busting email inboxes, back-to-back meetings, and they grab lunch on the run. However, being busy is not the same as being effective. I have to remind myself not to jump in do whatever task grabs my attention. This is a common productivity killer because the things that grab my attention are not always very important and they often do not represent the best way to spend your time. If i eliminate this habit productivity should significantly improve.
The solution is to make a plan and then work my plan instead of doing instead of doing whatever grabs my attention. Next figure out the best way to use my time based on the top priorities for the week. That way i can spend more of my time on important things and less on consequential tasks.
