Procrastination, the actions of postponing or delaying a task. Everyone has played this game whether they were in high school or college. Even today, college students still play with this procrastination game. We all try to stay out of it, but once you play this game and get the habit of it, then there is no way out, unless you create yourself a schedule on what kinds of tasks you need to finish before the new day comes. Needless to say, I have an average amount of time management skills. It was overwhelming and tough at first, but once you set up a time schedule, you’ll fairly get used to it. My biggest struggle was trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep and not cram the stuff that I couldn’t finish before the deadline, like these essays. Setting up a time schedule made a huge impact towards my schedule because I didn’t realize how much time I would be having at night on the weekends. But on the weekdays I need to improve on it because I usually go to bed at 1-2am in the morning, which is not so good. I am in the middle of utilizing my time correctly because there are times where I can get my tasks finished but there are other days where I only get 5-6 hours of sleep. Also, I make time to talk to my boyfriend who is currently in the military right now and sometimes I stay up a bit late to talk to him. Other times, I focus on myself way too much, such as studying and I lose the opportunity to go out, make new friends and socialize. I feel like I can improve on my time management skills by cutting down the study sessions then the usual times, cutting time talking to my boyfriend, writing half of these essays over the weekend and finishing the rest on an easy weekday, and getting culinary fundamentals homework finished over the weekends. I think making these changes will make me have more time to go out and meet new people and be involved in different events or clubs. Because I came here to take everything as an opportunity instead of trying to be a hermit crab and be stuck in my dorms all the time,

I personally feel I was not effective in correctly managing my time, because for every assignment I was rushing on finishing last minute. I was the typical graduate student that stayed late working on homework; unfortunately, that was something that I had told myself I was not going to do but I did it. Therefore next semester I will be taking on different measures to ensure that I can manage my time adequately, and not having to be the stereotypical graduate student depriving of sleep. The measure I will be taking for next semester is to start assignment early and get them review by peers or the writing center at school…

At the same time I feel as if my school work load is so high I can never get ahead or feel on top of all my responsibilities in life. My first semester of graduate school had been rough, but I made it through and was very proud I had. However, throughout my first semester I had deeply cut my social relationship time with my partner and my friends, stopped going to the gym entirely, and lost the majority of my weekends to educational reading and assignments. I learned I needed to prepare and organize my time even more efficiently than I already did. For the second semester I sat down with my partner and planned out every single week from the food we were going to eat, events we were going to attend, dates we were going to go on, and workouts we were going to take part in.…
