Tim Tebow Impact On Life

Improved Essays
A person's perspective of life is and can be affected by multiple factors. These can be experiences and life situations, the values, attitudes, and habits one has developed. Views coming from experiences with influential works and novels can have a considerable impact on one’s life. Nothing will ever come close to surpassing the knowledge and advice I have gained from Tim Tebow’s Through My Eyes and how I have a better understanding of my view of the world. The autobiography focuses on his football career and his relationship with God, but the most influential parts are the mottos he lives by that have affected me. Tebow’s commitment to improve every day, overcome negative circumstances, and serve his community have had a positive impact on …show more content…
Tebow was not faced with many struggles in his early life. In 2006 he was named the second-string quarterback for the Gators, behind Chris Leak. Throughout the season he had a limited amount of snaps, including a handful during the BCS Championship Game, one of which was a 39-yard touchdown run. Other than being a second-string freshman, the rest of his college career was spectacular, so much so that he is speculated as one of the greatest college quarterbacks of all-time. The real negative situations would come throughout his journey in the NFL. Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos as the 25th pick, he played one season on their roster, but he has struggled to get on any team’s roster since. Being overlooked in many teams’ offensive scheme, he has only remained on three other teams’ practice squads, but has recently been cut by the Philadelphia Eagles. The main point I have taken away from his movement around the league is that every team he plays with he is noted as extremely coachable, a leader, has a great attitude, and shows respect and class. Tebow’s will to push forward and take everyday as it comes, even if he is in a slump, translates to every aspect of life. The book portrayed a figure I have since looked up to for an example when times are rough. In athletics players have bad days where nothing seems to be going their way, but to …show more content…
His foundation and his ability to inspire and give hope to those he meets is extraordinary by any standards. Tebow explains, “We have to humble ourselves and the way you do that is by serving other people,” showing the importance of giving back to the community, and simply helping others. During college, some classmates and himself developed a foundation that would later turn into his Tim Tebow Foundation, its main focus is to bring faith, hope, and love to those in need of a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. The book explains the importance of charity and love throughout his life and how it has shaped his future career path. When he’s not playing football he is helping people whether it be through his foundation or on his own time. After reading Through My Eyes, community service has been an active part of my life. Service has taught me about compassion and understanding to a greater extent that of which I had before. The importance of service in Tebow’s book has shaped my view of the world by forcing me to realize there are people struggling to survive every day, and that there are endless opportunities to

Have you ever caught yourself allowing your mind to become an excellent servant but a terrible master? The most valuable lesson that I have learned in my life thus far is the notion that the quality of life that I live is dependent upon the way that I choose to think. The individuals that we are and the individuals we aspire to be are hypothetically supposed to allign; for it is how we think that’ll determine whether or not the person you are now will be the person you aspire to be. Through the analysis of my past, present, and future I will analyze my passion for baseball as a child and how it contributed to how my masculinity was formed, I will analyze David Foster Wallace’s “This is Water” commencement speech and how it has contributed to…

However, foster had not even been near the forefront of my mind that summer. The summer before I started my first year of high school, I had plenty of anxiety about the tall tale I invented in my own mind that stood before me. Stories about how hard high school were numerous and often regaled on the crowded bus ride home by high schoolers who seemed to have the knowledge of every wise teacher in history combined. which that scared me to death; I had always held my position as a good student who followed the rules of my middle school.…

Wes Moor was different from The Other Wes because he grew up living off of people’s expectations of him. The purpose of the book is to show that life is what you make it, it’s up to you if you want to be successful or a drug dealer.…
