The story is about how Mark Fossy brought his girlfriend to Vietnam. It really turns out that his girlfriend, was very different there. Tim Obrien says that how see was always wanting to know everything like an AK-47 and different kinds of booby traps and wanting to explore everything. What ends up happing is that Mark Fossys girlfriend turns out to be what they called the Greenies, which were the crazy ones like not literally crazy but the nasty unscarred people that aren’t afraid. They would go out for two weeks straight and stay out there trying to be kind of like spies. She ended up going out with them and she really found herself there, she told mark. The greenies are like the nasty people like that eat bugs of their knives and things like that. Tim Obrien states that` a pair of solid brass balls, that’s all you need’.
