Tim Cook is the CEO of Apple Inc., and serves on Apple’s board of directors. He is considered the head of the most profitable business in America. After the retirement of Steve Jobs, Tim took over Apple Inc. in August of 2011 with a salary of 10.28million dollars and net worth of 785 million dollars. (“Tim Cook.” Biography.com)

He has been acknowledged for a great deal of achievements that led up to his position in the Apple Inc. Tim Cook graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. The he went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He even explained in 2014 that he enjoys having a “basic level of privacy.” Some personal things have been made known to us though, such as him being a fitness enthusiast, he enjoys cycling, hiking and uses an off-campus fitness center. He was born on November 1, 1960 to Donald and Geraldine in Mobile, Alabama. His father was a shipyard worker while his mother worked at a pharmacy, and he had two other brothers. Tim attended Robertsdale High School and graduated in the class of 1978. He grew up in a very modest family where he learned to be very chartable. In 1996, he was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He claims that his supposed illness has led him to see the world from a different perspective. Since the incident, he has been taking part in various charity fundraisings to raise money for the research of different disease. In October 2014, Tim publicly announced that he was gay saying: “While I have never denied my sexuality, I haven’t publicly acknowledged it either, until now,” he wrote. “So, let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.” Tim also stated some inspiring word from his idol Martin Luther King Jr: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’" He explained that his decision to put his personal privacy aside and make his …show more content…

    The next goal I had for Tom was to figure out how he wanted to or if he wanted to come out as gay to his family and friends. Support groups are imperative to helping youth questioning their sexuality to become more comfortable with the possibility of possibly coming out as queer (Sue and Sue, 2009,p477). These support groups have other individuals also questioning their sexuality and going through the same situation and thus could really be helpful to Tom when he decides what his feelings mean and whether to come out or not. By finding a support group for Tom and allowing him to feel comfortable making a decision, I will help him decide whether or not to come out a gay and if he did decides to, whom to come out too.
