For example, in the movie Edward Scissorhands(1990), when it shows the townspeople, who are generally bright, quirky, outgoing people, it has bright lights and it was always sunny out where they were. This is to create a fantasy look and give a feeling of delight and exhilaration. But when it showed Edward Scissorhands in his castle, it had a very low, dark light to create the feeling of loneliness and isolation, which perfectly explained Edward’s situation before the plot of the movie.
