Tim Burton characterizes his films by using lighting and colors effectively. For instance, is his films he likes to use dull colors. The color in the films Charlie in the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland were mostly very dark, gloomy, and not exciting. This creates a dark tone throughout the films.
