Tim Burton uses a wide variety of cinematic elements in his movies. These cinematic elements range from how bright the light is, to the angle of the camera. Though, the cinematic elements he uses always comes together to make his movies great. Tim Burton uses various cinematic techniques to show his style in his movies. Everyone that has watched a Tim Burton movie knows how unique his style is and how different it is from other directors. He uses cinematic elements to create a character who is an outsider or a loner by using colors to differentiate them from the rest of the cast. He makes most of his characters wear dark clothing and has a pale complexion to show how they may be depressed. For example, In Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas, both main characters wore dark clothing and had a pale skin-tone. Another thing that makes it easy to spot a loner in Tim Burton movies is shadowing and lighting. Dark lighting covering a character gives off the feeling of the character being lonely and sad.
