Tim burton is an accomplished director who won an emmy for outstanding children's animated program. Growing up, Burton loved watching cartoons and aspired to make some of his own. At the age of 26, Burton achieved his goal by becoming a film director, and soon after started his career working for Disney. He then stroke out with his own film which was well received and soon after decided to leave Disney. Burtons famous films include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 2005”, “Edward Scissorhands, 1990”, and “Corpse Bride, 2005”. Tim Burton's style would be described by most as creative. Tim Burton uses color/lighting, camera angles, and music/sound to give his audience a better perspective on his characters. As a director lighting is a pivotal part to the outcome of the movie, the different lights in a movie contrasts and helps with the directors tone. For example in Edward Scissorhands (1990), the first time we see Edward is when he’s in the shadows. By darkening Edward’s appearance so we can't see anything but his scissor hands makes it feels as if this were a horror film. As the father has a heart attack and begins falling to the floor, the viewers start to get choked up. When the music changes to sad the viewers can see how Burton utilized his technique with music and sound by changing the music to be appropriate to the scene. An example for Corpse Bride is when we see Emily sitting and crying after Victor tells her he would never marry her. As she cries, sad music starts playing.
