Rikki Tikki Tavi Comes Of Age
The story of Rikki Tikki Tavi is a coming of age story because of the way he learns to solve a problem, accomplish a goal, and mature. Rikki Tikki is a young mongoose who washes up in a flood and lands in front of a young boys house. The boy, Teddy, and his English family take Rikki Tikki in and give him food, shelter, and a comfortable place to sleep.That hospitality comes at a cost, the family wants Rikki Tikki to protect them from any trouble that lurks in the garden. Rikki Tikki would do anything to protect teddy and the family but must learn how to defeat the snakes in the garden.
The trouble that lurks in the garden are three snakes that have one goal in mind, to kill the family. The snakes names are
