Tikki Tavi Character Analysis

In the story “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” by Rudyard Kipling Rikki Tikki is a brave and curious mongoose. Nagaina is a clever and protective mother. The theme of the story is to overcome fear to protect your family. First of all, Rikki is a brave and curious mongoose. For example “Well” said Rikki and tail began to fluff up again, “marks or no marks do you think it is right for you to eat fledglings out of a nest?” (Kipling paragraph 8) This shows that Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is not afraid of a challenge. Rikki-Tikki has no experience with snakes, but he is not allowing Nag to bully him. Also “It is the hardest thing in the world to frighten a mongoose, because he is eaten up from head to tail with curiosity.”(Kipling paragraph 3). This proves that Rikki is a very curious mongoose.
