Theme is the main idea or life-lesson of a story. In “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” by Rudyard Kipling, the theme is clearly evil is punished and good is rewarded. For example, the antagonists, Nag and Nagaina, were punished for being wicked. Also, Rikki-tikki, the protagonist, was rewarded for being good and working hard. Although, I can see where some people might think the theme is never give up, but I will prove that my theme is correct.

In the text, there are several examples proving that the theme, evil is punished and good is rewarded, is precise. The cobras were punished after being selfish and threatening. Both the cobras and Rikki continued to fight throughout the story, but eventually the cobras die. Because of that, the theme can’t be never give up. The theme is evil is punished and good is rewarded. That is because the cobras were penalized for being mischievous, and Rikki was rewarded for doing good. This proves that the theme isn’t never give up.
Rudyard Kipling clearly shows that the theme is evil is punished and good is rewarded. The cobras were punished for being wicked, selfish, and threatening. Rikki-tikki was rewarded because now he can sit back and relax. I’ve seen evil punished and good rewarded before. When animal abusers are caught, they are punished by being sent to prison. The innocent animals are rewarded by being sent to a safe place and possibly getting adopted. The theme of “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” is obviously evil is punished and good is
