Ophiophagus hannah and Herpestidae are the scientific names for cobras and mongoose. Cobras typically weigh 6kg and a king cobra can be up to 18 feet. Mongoose, depending on their type can be from 4.4 to 12 pounds, and can grow up to 1.9 feet. But despite their little size, these little creatures are fearless. They are born & raised to fight cobras. And that it just what Rikki-Tikki-Tavi did. The topics being covered in this essay will be the book’s problem, climax, & solution then the movie’s climax, problem & solution. The printed version & movie cover the same main ideas, but have a few differences.

In the movie the mongoose is only called Rikki-Tikki rather than his full name of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Rikki-Tikki is washed up to the garden, which is roaming with two nasty cobras. Rikki-Tikki once again meets Nag & Nagaina in the garden but tries to scare him off with a little mongoose dance, which did not happen in the book. Another scene that didn’t happen in the book is that the movie goes into full detail of Rikki going into the bathroom and he falls into the tub where Teddy is bathing. The problem of the book is that Rikki & the cobras want to kill one another. Later on, Nag is waiting in the bathroom ready to kill the Englishman and his family but Rikki kills Nag before he can. While Rikki is holding on to Nag on the head, there is thunder and lighting and a lot of noise, you can really get a perspective on how the whole fight went down. The Englishman awakes & shoots Nag with his gun. This is the climax. Nagaina wants revenge for the death of Nag & tries to strike Teddy at early morning breakfast. Rikki speedily races to the veranda where he fights Nagaina. But as they are fighting, Nagaina slithers away to her hole. There she is killed by Rikki-Tikki. This is the resolution. Teddy’s family is protected by
