Tiki Bar Incident Analysis

Decent Essays
Words cannot adequately express my deepest apologies for the incident that took place March 23, 2018 in the Tiki Bar parking lot. I truly regret the situation that I have placed myself in because this does not nor do I want this situation to speak for my character. In my 11 years of serving in the Army National Guard I have never been in any trouble nor have I ever been arrested as a civilian. However, there was no excuse for my actions, I accept full responsibility for what I did, and understand the consequences that I face. What has brought me great sadness is knowing that I violated the trust my command placed in me.

What I have learned from this incident is that in life you cannot always take matters into your own hands and it is important

In the stories “The Lesson” by Toni Cade Bambara, and “The Struggle to be an All American Girl” by Elizabeth Wong, and the poem “Indian Boarding School: The Runaways” by Louise Erdrich, each of the writers focus on the positive and negative aspects of education. While part of the setting for Louise Erdrich’s poem and Elizabeth Wong’s story take place inside an actual school, the setting for Toni Cade Bambara’s story doesn’t take place inside a school; however, for all three stories, the characters in them are taught very important lessons. When I think about the three readings it reminds me that we have important lessons in our life that we have to learn from. Everyone has a lesson they have to learn in life no matter what it is…

The flight to Panama was long and bumping as I flew aboard a C-141, this aircraft is no longer in service. As I departed the aircraft, I was met by oppressive heat and humidity. As I looked around my new surroundings, I could not help but think that it looked as if someone had laid a giant green carpet over the landscape. It was definitely the most beautiful country that I had seen and, in my opinion it still is. The tarmac was busy with all kinds of activity going on.…

While going to war is certainly difficult, returning home may be even harder, on both the veteran and the people surrounding them, because the moments both the soldier, and their family and friends have experienced (since the soldier left), separate them from making easy connections once they have returned. The veteran must get used to the rhythm of civilian life and adjust to the fact that not everyone will treat them well. In New York, New York, U.S. Veteran Luis Carlos Montalván had been in contact with the regional manager of Mcdonald’s because he had been kicked out of McDonald’s for the use of his service dog. The next month, Montalvan was assaulted by McDonald’s employees after taking photos of their ‘No Dogs Allowed” sign (instead of the “No pets; Assistance Animals Welcome” sign he had requested from the regional manager).…
