Many may often ask, “Who is the most successful golfer to ever play the game?” and the majority of answers would either say Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus. But first, the level of success in the game of golf ranges from many different aspects, all being dependent on the person playing the game. This is one of the things that makes the game so great. One may think he or she is successful at golf if he or she can consistently break 80 every round. Others may find that they are successful in the game if they obtain their PGA or LPGA Tour cards, no matter if they win any tournaments or not. Tiger on the other hand has 14 and is still chasing that record. When comparing major championships, neither one seems to have any sort of advantage when it came to playing in them. The major championships have been going since the mid-1800s, so each of them has had an equal opportunity in participating. Both Tiger and Jack dominated the majors in their prime, and at the end of 2008 it seemed to everyone that Tiger would easily surpass Jack’s 18 major victories, even Jack himself. But then came Tiger’s off course controversy that led to him missing a lot of golf tournaments, and it also affected him mentally when he was on the course. While Tiger has bounced back and won many PGA Tour events since 2008, he has yet to win another major since his 2008 US Open victory. More and more doubt seems to arise whether or not Tiger will beat Jack’s record, or even if Tiger will win another major for that matter. Mr. Nicklaus has shared his thoughts on this and after all Tiger has been through, he still believes Tiger has the game left in him to beat his record. If Tiger is able to end this long drought, it will give him the confidence to do great
