The year 2010 was not starting off well for the professional golfer: Eldrick Tont Woods, also known as “Tiger Woods.” Unfortunately, he made a tremendous mistake, at the end of 2009, which put him in jeopardy of losing millions of dollars in endorsement, his marriage, and his number one ranking. Tiger Woods was caught for partaking in multiple offenses of adultery. He cheated on his wife Elin Nordegren; the couple had been together for six years. On Friday, February 19, 2010, at 12:20 p.m., Woods declared a public apology during a speech that he presented at a press conference. Tiger Woods uses pathos to show his emotion that he feels towards his family in order to protect them. “Elin has shown enormous grace and poise throughout this ordeal. Elin deserves praise, not blame.” Woods is explaining to his audience that he does not want to hurt his wife anymore than he already has, and he thinks she needs to be supported by his followers. He acts upset at the fact that bad rumors are being said about his wife Elin; however, she had nothing to do with the affairs.
