Tiger Mouskie: Personal Experience

Improved Essays
The thing that sets me apart from other applicants is my commitment to the goals that I set for myself. In june of 2016, right after school ended for summer, my friend and I set a goal that, by the end of summer, we would catch a tiger muskie. We spent the beginning of summer searching through garage sales and thrift shops for all the necessary materials. We lost many afternoons repairing his 12 foot fiberglass dinghy just so we could have a chance at catching this elusive fish. After all this work and preparation it was early august and we both decided it was time to finally throw a line in the water. We went out on a local lake and started fishing. We got on the water at 6am and we were prepared to stay out all day. Fortunately we only had fish out there for about 2 hours when we finally brought our fish into the boat. Although it may seem insignificant I followed through on my goal and completed something that at times seemed

Cody Walker was simply outstanding for the Bears, while John Olive returned from a first grade stint to score two tries in the opening 15 minutes. This match saw the Bears welcome new recruit Paul Carter to the side, and they were further boosted by the inclusion of regular first graders Jason Clark and Cameron McInnes. Cheyne Whitelaw also returned from a long-term injury – so the Bears went into the contest with an incredibly strong lineup.…

I never thought I would push myself beyond my expectations until the day I wanted to become a Swamp Fox. Swamp Fox is a special forces organization at the college I currently attend, Marion Military Institute, which teaches its inducted cadets small unit tactics, techniques, and procedures. I knew it was not going to be easy to be inducted but I also knew that by doing so I would push myself to become a part of a brotherhood that would enlighten me. Of course I did not know exactly what to expect, I just wanted to maintain my grades and my health as those are the two most important things keeping me eligible for an appointment at West Point. The first thing I had to do was get through zero night.…

In the book, White Tiger by Aravind Adiga speaks a lot about the socioeconomic status of India and Balram, the main character of this story tells about how he feels India is like a rooster coop. Balram compares India to a rooster coop by talking about how the poor, or the people who are stuck in the Darkness because they are often times cramped into a small tiny space with no room to grow. He also mentions that they are like roosters because they watch each other get “slaughtered” but cannot escape from their own fate.
