Tide Pods Commercial Analysis

The Tide Pods commercial conveyed a better message by using bright, happy colors, background music, and personal connection more efficiently than the Gain Flings commercial, due to the lack of ethos. The lighting in both the Tide Pods commercial, and the Gain Flings commercial was very bright, allowing the viewer to feel the happiness put off from the short commercial. The music in the Tide clip is very outgoing and adds a sense of trust in the product rather than the music in the Gain clip, showing less trust by using too much comedy with the background singers. Depending on how it’s used, comedy can influence good and bad feelings. Like in the Gain clip, the comedy with the singers made me feel a bit annoyed with the product. During the tide clip, the producers showed the process of how simple the process of laundry would be with the Tide Pod. Showing the clothing being taken out of the dryer, put on and worn the whole day. The clothing was bright, with flowers flowing out of the …show more content…
Also the use of a green screen near the end allows me to feel the commercial by making it seem as real as possible. The Gain commercial is a very still clip, not changing scenes as often, no phasing of the camera, and very little effects are given in this commercial. The way the camera followed the woman’s actions as she completed her laundry cycle, switched clothes, and walked around in work showed me the credibility by showing me the others who could recognize the smell and used pathos to connect with the audience, other than the Gain which was a still scene. This is a very crucial in film production, allowing different scenes to convey the same message in a more efficient way. In clips with the lack of animation, scene change, and camera movement, I am not influenced that this is the best product, therefore I will lose interest and discontinue
