Position A scientist is a person who is studying or has expert knowledge in natural or physical sciences. There is a diverse range of scientists who could possibly work for the Fundy Ocean Research Centre for Energy (FORCE), for this simulation, I will assume the position of a regulatory scientist. They are on the lower level of the management system because they have little say in the decision-making process since they have little data to go on. In a Tidal Turbine Project, their job is to reassure the public that the new technology is reliable and safe. In this simulation, political leaders manage the Nova Scotia Bay of Fundy Tidal Turbine Project.
Objectives
The Tidal Turbine Project has its uncertainties, therefore, monitoring systems and regulations will be created, to make sure that the new technology does not affect the environment in a negative way. Scientists are needed to …show more content…
I will study which stakeholders have common interests with Cape Sharp Tidal. Stakeholder’s have diverse ideas about the project. Identifying which stakeholder agrees with another is not black and white. It is key to note, that FORCE is an organization that has collaborated with both Cape Sharp Tidal (represented by Jessica and Kelly) and DFO (represented by Gene and Jo). To clarify, Cape Sharp Tidal works with DFO, but the DFO stakeholders regulate the fisheries. On the other hand, some fishers do not want to collaborate with Cape Sharp Tidal. With these dynamic relationships (mentioned above) it leaves DFO trusted by some fishers but not all because of DFO’s relationship with Cape Sharp Tidal. In order to meet a FORCE scientist’s objective of positively promoting tidal turbine energy; I want to work with the tourism representatives (represented by Laura, Taylor) and avoid the Fisheries
