First, like the gears of the clock, my high school years were spinning out of control. An unsuspected medical condition came upon me, which had me home and hospitalized, when most kids are trying to transition as smoothly as possible from middle school to High School. Then BAM I get hit with a medical condition that has since been resolved, but took away a big chunk of that year. Yet, I made sure that I kept up on all my studies and stayed on track with my class, even though it was advised I could take the year over. I persevered, but this experience made me want to become a Physician Assistant. I looked at alternative schools that could allow me to get some medical terminology and also EMT experience. I elected to leave my current school after the freshman year and go to a charter school in my sophomore year, which I am now graduating from. That is what recently happened to my family. My oldest half-brother is married with three children. All three of his children have been diagnosed with a rare disorder which is non-curable. Our family is facing the most catastrophic situation that I think a family can face. I have so much passion in me to try to make the healthcare a better place for everyone. I want to be there as a Physician Assistant for everyone as well as for my family. It was a dream of mine long before my niece and nephews of mine were diagnosed, but now it only escalates me to a level of wanting to ensure that other families get the best care they can possible in the healthcare
