Thunder Hear My Cry

The book I read was “Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry” the book’s timeline was in the early in 1933 when segregation was still around. The place the book was set in was Louisiana in a town where there were only white people and they had their own all-black school where they got all the old books and the white kids got all the new books and we're very privileged with anything and everything. There was no one main character there were a few main characters. The main characters would, in my opinion, were the entire Logan family. The Logan family started off as a great upright family that always did what they should and always followed the laws. Their kids were very obedient and listened. The Logan family decided to boycott the Wallace store. When they did this they tried to get the town to join them in their decision of boycotting the Wallace store. When they did this no one could join them as much as they wanted to because there was nowhere else they could go that was close. The Logans decided to offer them an option of the Logans going to a Vicksburg and getting food and supplies. When they went on the trip, Papa and the Logans were attacked and Papa broke his leg. When Papa was still recovering the Logans were attacked on their farm and they ended up defending their house with L.T. and L.T. was also there to help out on their farm because Papa broke his leg. When Mama was still a teacher, she taught her own kids and some of their friends. One of her students T.J. Avery decided to cheat on the exam. When Mrs. Logan caught him trying to cheat on the exam she yelled at him. When she was teaching about history on slavery a man watched her give the lesson. The man in the room who was observing noticed that Mrs. Logan was not teaching out of the book like she was taught to do.
