An interesting and thought-provoking section of the documentary is the programs that are in the communities who susceptible to drug use. The “Bluff” needle exchange program was a program that helped advocate aids and promoted a more hygienic approach to drug use. In turn, this helped combat the transmissions of HIV. Because the Drug Paraphernalia Law made it illegal for people to carry needles, it caused people to turn to shooting galleries instead. The methods of attainment are as varied as the subject matter, and despite the fact that both films share many similarities, there are several aspects of both films that vary greatly from one another. The documentary, Alive Inside, provided a look into how the brain’s reaction to music for nursing home residents with dementia provided an alternative therapy by allowing them to temporarily regain the memories and movement of their younger years. Teen drug abuse had became a big problem worldwide due to the lack of education that teens have on drugs. Parents do not educate their teens to the point that they know everything they should know about drugs, such as, how damaging to the body and health of a teen they can be. Teens do not realize that they are putting their health at risk, and they are also putting others at risk as well.
