Throug Through Writing

Out of all of the subjects I take in school, my favorite would have to be writing. I enjoy this form expression through words, and also enjoy reading expression through words. Writing allows me to express my feelings, thoughts, or emotions; I can put my mind and all of its thoughts up on display for all to be able to read and see. Through writing (and reading) I can read other’s ideas and works, and I can benefit from those. I can compare my thoughts with others, and teach and learn through writing and reading, creating a sort of symbiotic relationship between me and others. I express my thoughts and in return, I may also learn from theirs. Finally though, a love of writing has helped increase my respect for good ideas, logical thinking, proper language, and good decision making. …show more content…
I can show my feelings, thoughts and emotions all on one piece of paper. With this skill of writing, I can exchange with others feelings and emotions. I better explain myself with writing. Though there are other forms of expression, such as painting and speaking, I find writing to be my favorite. I can share my imagination and fantasies by writing stories or made up tales. I can spread my ideas or religion or politics through pamphlets or letters- and I can discuss these beliefs or ideas with online postings. I can make my voice heard through writing, I can “teach” others my beliefs, I can possibly open their minds to a new point of view: my point of view. With writing, I am better able to make myself understood and

If I had to choose a favorite subject, English would be at the top of my list. I am no perfectionist, although English is my preferred subject. I still lack many qualities that make an exquisite writer. I’ve been in school for approximately three weeks now and English is one of the many subjects I am taking. Luckily the professor I chosen is very nice, knowledgeable and adamant about the subject he teaches.…

The Impact of Technology on Writing As Stephen Hawking once said, “We are all now connected by the Internet, like neurons in a giant brain”. The advancement in technology, and the Internet has completely blown everyone’s expectations and it has become the center of our civilization, changing lives everyday. In an chapter called “Public Thinking” from Clive Thompson’s book, Smarter Thank You Think: How Technology is Changing Our Minds for the Better, he claims that writing has increased an extensive amount because technology and the Internet has grown to be such vital roles in our society. He demonstrates rhetorical strategies that gains the reader’s attention and pulls them into his text. Thompson makes claims and persuades us to believe…

Oh careless days I miss you! Writing has influenced my life in many ways, it has allowed me to express myself in silence, expanding my vocabulary skills, and help me communicate with others verbally. In 6th grade my beloved teacher Mr. Harris who loved literacy, made it his duty for us to focus on writing first thing every morning. I enjoyed writing at that age, but hated presenting my writing among my peers in class.…

Writing... It´s been with us since we were born and it will stay with us until we die. I can’t complain though because writing has made me the way I am today, it has taught me how to use correct grammar, good detail and how to start my essays off with a nice thesis statement. From all the writing we have done over the course of school you would think you know what it means right??? Wrong. Everyone has a different view of what writing means, if they like it or not, if they do it in their free time or not I view writing as a way to escape from the outside world (unless you're writing an informational essay, in that case you have a STRICT criteria you have to follow which to some people could be a drag).…

I consider myself apt in most of my academics; I consistently perform above average with everything I do. Although, what I enjoy and excel at most is English and Symphonic band. A number of factors contribute to my success in these subjects, one of them being the remarkable teachers who have instructed me the past twelve years. English has always been one of my favorite classes because of my affinity for poetry and literature. Over the past few years, I have gathered enough books to fill two shelves, but never would have discovered my love for reading without my sixth grade English teacher, Mrs. Schadler.…

Writing helps translate exactly how I feel into words so that when others read my writing, they get a solid idea of how I feel and/or what my intentions are. Overall, writing is one of the best ways of communication when compared to just talking to someone. When you talk to someone in a casual way, your words aren’t going to be as organized as a causal paper would be. But, there 's also a downside to writing a letter to someone compared to speaking to them, because, when you speak to someone, you show emotion through facial expressions and gestures; a paper cannot show emotion very well, which is why text messages can be easily…

From the Mesopotamian civilization to the present day civilization, writing has taken a place of importance in our daily lives; something I have always struggled with. Through school the most difficult subject that I have always struggled with is English. Growing up my first language was Spanish due to the fact that my parents do know much English. My parents were never able to read to me in English preventing me from hearing and seeing the English language; it was not until I entered elementary school that I was exposed to English. This has contributed to my difficulties in English courses throughout my education.…
