The Professional A young Natalie Portman fueled by rage begins to train with the help of Léon played by Jean Reno, to be an assassin in order to avenge the death of her family. The movie is the holy grail for any action and plot loving movie lovers because it incorporates intense thrilling action scenes while also mixing in an intriguing plot line. Directed by Luc Besson, The Professional is nothing short of a work of outstanding artistry, it can be compared to movies like La Femme Nikita. Winning multiple awards which include the Czech Lion Award for Best Foreign Film, and the Golden Reel Award for Best Sound Editing - Foreign Feature proves just how amazing this film is. The Professional earns, a whopping 5 out of 5 stars because of the thrilling plot line, A+ acting, and the unique soundtrack for the film. Set in the streets of New York City, the film begins with peaceful above head shots of the city and quickly takes a turn when it focuses on Léon being assigned his next hit job, but what truly grabs the audience's attention is the fact that his face is not revealed only certain features such as his iconic dark glasses and his quirky habit of drinking …show more content…
It’s unique because it has the audience infer what happens after the movie is over. The lyrics “I'm not a man of too many faces. The mask I wear is one…” symbolizes Léon’s internal struggle to either stick with what he has been taught or try and venture out on a new path with no guaranteed outcome. The message of the song is about a person who is great at what they do, however they don’t play to win or to receive glory but, to learn with each win. The album also includes other songs containing instruments alone such as “Ballad For Mathilda”, “Léon the Cleaner”, and “Room 4602.” Each piece has its own story that complements the film
