Yes, I would implement the 3-step model of recovery to the issue when handling it informally, if the colleague were willing to admit that there is a violation on their part. A Three-Step Model of Recovery is an excellent model to implement when prevention fails. Like what I mentioned in my initial response, the first step is acknowledging the violation; “To informally resolve this situation, I will start by setting up a group meeting with the mental health professional and my new client. We will discuss the violation of the limits of confidentiality, and then the mental health professional will either accept the conflict as a breach or report that the link doesn’t exist.” Then the second step is to address and respond
