Reflection On The Outside Time Commitment

I found that the most challenging part of this class was the outside time commitment. You did tell us that we would be volunteering and doing a lot for those two assignment. But even outside that this class has needed the most time outside of class than any other I have ever taken. Between the weekly readings and part B, C and D I feel that we put a lot of time in outside of the classroom. Of course our class did rarely take the fully allotted time and one could have probably done most of this work if they stayed until the class was over. I feel that it was still a lot to focus on outside of class. Personal I took this class as an option and I feel as if I have spent too much time focusing on this class rather than focus on my major. That being said I do feel like this class has helped me a lot and I am glad I took this class. Almost everyone in a position of leadership had someone they looked up to while finding out who they were as a leader. In my case, I have always looked up to my old football and wrestling coach. I interviewed him for this paper and asked him a couple questions about his leadership style and how he became a leader. I have always respected Coach Mac ever since I was a freshman on varsity. The thing he praises most as a leader is accountability, and just learning what went wrong or right in the situation, and learn from it.…

Teaching controversial issues in the classroom through discussion is the most beneficial method for students to learn about these matters because it teaches them how to be open-minded, think critically about their own beliefs, and forces them to master their public speaking and interpersonal skills.
