To begin, the only reason why we created this power plant was to make our lives easier. In my opinion, this power plant only makes our lives more stressful. This is because there is always a fear in the back of my mind that something catastrophic could happen to Three Mile Island. Once before, there has been an accident that involved radiation exposure at Three Mile Island specifically. Why should we keep a threat to all life in our town and pay for it, too? After all, the money to fund Three Mile Island isn’t going to appear out of thin air. We will have to pay to keep Three Mile Island open with our hard-earned money. In my opinion, it’s not worth it to pay for something that could cause death, sickness, or mutation for everyone we know. On the contrary, my opponent could argue that Three Mile Island is worth the cost, because of how cheap the energy is. To that statement, I argue that we have alternative energy sources that don’t cause death to innocent people. I would rather live in a world with less fear and lower taxes than one that could always threaten death and costs us more
