Three Literacy Strategies

In my instruction, I tried to ensure to tie my three literacy strategies back to the definition stated in section one. The anticipation guide used to introduce the topic, focuses more on the fundamental sense of literacy, in that it requires students to evaluate each statement and develop an argument as to why they agree or disagree. The engagement activity using the organizational chart involves students not only using various text as a form of inquiry, but it also engages students in hands-on activities, tying the strategy to both the fundamental and derived senses of literacy. Finally, the RAFT strategy would require students to evaluate and write a response to the given prompt. This would require students to use critical thinking, as

    Overall, the course content of M464 was all designed to aid prospective educators in learning about how, when, and why specific methods word the way they do. Students enrolled in M464 were urged to look for specific strategies within their field placements. If these strategies were not observed or new strategies were not discovered, candidates were suggested to critically think about what other strategies could be put in place to access higher-level reading comprehension of whatever activities were going on in the classroom.
