In my instruction, I tried to ensure to tie my three literacy strategies back to the definition stated in section one. The anticipation guide used to introduce the topic, focuses more on the fundamental sense of literacy, in that it requires students to evaluate each statement and develop an argument as to why they agree or disagree. The engagement activity using the organizational chart involves students not only using various text as a form of inquiry, but it also engages students in hands-on activities, tying the strategy to both the fundamental and derived senses of literacy.
