Three Characteristics Of Academic Writing

It's always fun to write an essay about the meaning of writing. The chapter we read, called What Is “Academic” Writing? by L. Lennie Irvin really drill down the thoughts and guide us to what writing can be. I thought writing is a response. We write become we have a response or a reaction to something. You can start off with a sentence onto a paragraph and eventually to an essay. Writing can be very lovely but is there such thing as perfect writing? It seems that everyone has a different mean to what writing means. However, your success with academic writing depends upon how well you understand the topic you can only improve if you put the effort as a college student. It taught us that in every essay there such be an argument and have back up support to what you have to say if you want people to believe you. Irvine tough us that there are three Characteristics of Academic Writing. All which I think well have heard and by now should have memorized. “They want to see in your writing the results of your efforts at the various literacy tasks we have been discussing: critical reading, research, and analysis”. With this quote, L.Lennie Irvin states what each teacher is looking for within our essays. Critical thinking is a way of showing how you personally feel about things. If you don’t feel the same way as the person next to you, we'll explain why. It's not that you are wrong and they are right it's just you having support and claiming your thoughts. Writing can go in many different ways and have a different end result to everyone, that is what makes writing a beautiful thing. I'm sure not everyone thinks it's beautiful at the moment, I for one is still figuring it out, but that fact that we are learning how to write it every day will make us see how lovely it really
