Describe the roles of three care workers
Nursery nurse:
A nursery nurse works with young children as well as infants. They provide care for children from the age of 6 months to 4 years old. A nursery nurse helps children through many key aspects of their life. This involves their emotional, educational, social and practical interaction. It is the role of a nursery nurse to make sure that children are safe and stimulated by creating a child-friendly environment and activities such as physical development. A nursery nurse will set up a daily routine for the nursery and will administer activities such as crafts and outdoor. Children are likely to mess about, so the ability of multitasking makes sure that the nursery nurse has time to look after children as well as maintain the peaceful environment. If a child is upset from an incident that has occurred, distraction will be therefore used. By a nursery nurse being organised, it helps them to teach in an effective environment as well as helps them to have the day organised in a more professional way. Additionally, is more efficient to work in an organised way as there would be no dangerous hazards lying on the floor to cause accidents. The role involves a nursery nurse to observe each child as this is a way to make the nursery nurse understand if the child is experiencing abuse. This can vary from emotional to psychical. Most of the time children are secretive, so by observation this allows the nursery nurse to understand the physical aspect of a child. If a child discusses a problem it is the role of a nursery nurse to keep this confidential and tell an individual that is a safeguarding professional such as a social worker or a child protection officer. The day begins at 7am as parents head to work during these times. The nursery nurse would begin by setting up activities that they will use throughout the day, for the children. Children and parents are kindly greeted. A nursery nurse will ask the parent of the child if there is any concerns that she/he should consider before the day begins. Children are usually provided with breakfast and then playtime will usually begin. Play time is a time when children can do activities. Activities are a way for children to let go of their energy therefore makes children have the ability to concentrate for longer periods. A nursey nurse will educate children to learn number skills through activities such as number games and counting games. To develop the Basic English language of a child, a nursery nurse will read stories and provide language based activities in order to help children expand their vocabulary which will eventually develop the ability to write by themselves without support. This will also help a child expand on their language skills and communication skills .A nursery nurse educates basic life skills through play. Play is an effective way to introduce skills as children learn more through practical work as they find enjoyment in it. An example is how to dress themselves. Lunch would usually began at 11:30 am. After lunch pre-toddlers would usually have a nap
