Global warming and climate change are “the talk of the town” in this century, with its unhealthy effects already being brought to lime light by its annihilate power of damaging the society by floods in one part of the country and droughts on another.
Before embarking impacts of global warming and climate change, we should know what green house effect mean.
GREEN HOUSE EFFECT
Green House effect is the phenomenon in which the earth's atmosphere traps solar radiation and is supported by the presence of the atmosphere gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapour, and methane that allow incoming sunlight to pass through, but absorb the heat radiated back from the earth's surface.

Impacts of global warming – the facts
Global warming is causing melting of glaciers in every part of the world, putting millions of people at risk from floods by increasing the sea level and shortages of drinking water by melting glaciers which are source of fresh water.
Arctic sea ice reached its third lowest recorded level during summer season of 2010.
Global warming is also threat to wildlife as in Scotland’s hottest year 2003 – killed hundreds of adult salmon as rivers became too warm for them to extract oxygen from the water.
Summer temperatures in European capitals have increased by up to 2°C over the last decade.
The Earth’s average temperature has increased by about 0.76°C over the past 50years, with most of this occurring in the past decade.
This temperature rise may look small, but small rises in temperature can turn into big changes for the world’s climate. This is because the amount of extra energy needed to increase the global temperature; even by a small amount is vast. This extra energy is like force-feeding the global climate …show more content…
The rising of warm, moist air from the ocean helps to power the storm. In order to build up and intensify, hurricanes require warm ocean temperatures, moist air, and low vertical wind shear (i.e. no strong change in wind speed or direction between two different altitudes), this atmosphere is provided by us by giving rise to green house gases because of this link between warm oceans and hurricane behaviour, warming of the surface ocean can increase the intensity of hurricanes, with the stronger ones getting the
