I think Macbeth has the better argument because his reasons are more reasonable and logical. Lady Macbeth is too overwhelmed and taken over by the idea of power that all she thinks about her ambition, wants and greed. She thinks that she is doing Macbeth a favour by persuading him and making herself mean, evil and cruel, but I don’t think any of the reason that she gives to persuade Macbeth has persuaded me.
Macbeth says that Duncan is a good king, a humble leader and he is also free of corruption if it is all true then what good reason do you have to kill such a person, other than your own ambition and greed. If Macbeth becomes king, then she will be queen. I think she is really expressing her own ambition and greed when she tries to convince Macbeth and makes a plan to kill Duncan. She isn’t thinking of Macbeth, but herself. Lady Macbeth assures Macbeth that he will successfully kill Duncan if he tries to, but the truth is that even if Macbeth fails, the blame will mostly be on Macbeth and not her. She says that Macbeth is a coward and that he is a man when he told her about his thought, but I think that he isn’t being a coward and he is more reasonable after he calms down about the idea that he will become king. When he hears about the idea, he is being too excited, overwhelmed and impatient of going to be king, so he thinks of killing Duncan. After Macbeth thinks about it more, he gets back his logic and tries to stop his ambition. Lady Macbeth has already gone too far with her ambition and no logic or reasoning can bring her back because she can think of his killing Duncan so Macbeth can become king and she will be queen.
