Thomas Vs Gladers

Thomas and his friends awake in a dormitory where they were brought by a group of rescuers. Teresa, the only female Glader, wakes Thomas up by communicating to him telepathically. As he wakes up they find that there rescuers are dead due to the Cranks, which are aggressive zombie-like people that have been affected by a plague that is known as "the Flare." When all the boys run to Teresa’s room she is gone and instead find a boy named Aris, who comes from another project similar to the maze except he was the only boy to escape. Aris and the Gladers head to the main area looking for Teresa, on their way they find messages on each other necks and don’t know how they got there. In the main area the bodies of their rescuers seem to be missing, they find one body from WICKED who tells the Gladers that they have been studying them. He explains that they must travel through the Scorch to find a safe haven and get a cure for the Flare. Two weeks later they all travel to the Scorch through a portal and end up in a tunnel. A WICKED vehicle arrives but will only allow one person on, either Brenda or Jorge. Thomas chooses Brenda hoping that WICKED will choose whoever he doesn’t pick. When his plan fails he forces the guard to let both of them stay. When the guard agrees, he tells Thomas that this had been another test. Later when resting Brenda communicates with Thomas telepathically. He is then separated from the group in a white room and had been left in isolation for a long period of time. Teresa also telepathically communicates with him, telling Thomas that his friends are being told that he has failed or died from the Flare. Thomas responds to Teresa to leave him alone as Teresa is telling him that “WICKED is good” before he cuts off all communication with
