It is always a question by humanity whether we are born good or evil. Natural law moral theory states that the moral standards that govern human behavior are derived from the nature of human beings and the nature of the world. One of its proponents, Thomas Acquinas believes that the reason why nature is in such order because God had put it there, however other thinkers such as Aristotle, states that the universe is eternal and did not come from God. From his Summa Theologiae, Thomas Acquinas explains that goodness is a transcendental quality that is possessed by every creature of God.
