In 1537 he found his second job he was organist again but this time it was at st Mary-le-hill in billingsgate, London he was also organist at Waltham abbey in London until that came to an end in 1540 dune to the reign of Henry VIII. Thomas was now out of work and went on a mission to find a job which he did in 1541 he was the lay clerk at canterbury cathedral. Eventually in 1543 he hunkered down as a gentleman of the chapel royal under the King's service. He performed at the chapel royal will helping manage the choir. By 1575 he managed to gain a monopoly of the printing press and musical paper in England. He stayed at the chapel royal until his death in 1585. Also in about 1552 he married is wife Joan and to take on a pupil a young man named Byrd. Of course Tallis was composing prior to his creation of missa salve intemerata although this marked the beginning of his his service for the king which Got him recognized as the largest church composer of England at the time. Thomas was born as a catholic and proved himself very adaptive, as I mentioned before, in writing for both catholic and protestant faith and somehow managed to not be prosecuted by others for being a member of the old faith. Some music he produced for the a anglican church is still used today
