Honor is shown to people who truly deserve it. A person who is honorable is someone with good morals, who is honest, and someone who contributes to the common good. To others honor may mean something totally different to them. Veterans, scientists, parents, and teachers can be honorable, it all just depends on your personal criteria of honor.…

In recollection of the Puritan time, in the poem “To the Honorable T.H., Esq; on the Death of His Daughter” to me it’s Neoclassical because in that time a letter in the memory of someone would be Neoclassical, not Puritan. The reader should be able to detect which era this poem came from by the literature between Puritan and Neoclassical. Puritans literature was more in the context of the bible and by strictly by God’s faith. Neoclassical literature was more well-rounded to me as if has so many more elements such as allusions, aphorisms and wit. The poem also has similarities to Puritan and Neoclassical era which I will explain more below.…

Though I have not always been consciously aware of the four pillars of National Honor Society, the ideas behind them are what have undoubtedly shaped who I am today as well as who I want to be in the future. The first pillar, scholarship, is important because a commitment to learning is what has made me interested in engineering and innovation. Additionally, scholarship has driven me to seek a meaningful post-secondary education where I can advance my learning to help better society. Service, the second pillar, has been important to my development because it has taught me that giving is more fulfilling than receiving. Moreover, this pillar has motivated me to construct a goal of serving in the US Air Force.…

My most positive high school experience for me has to be when I was inducted into National Honor Society for my senior year. This was something that I has been striving to do since my freshman year after I received my first academic letter. But after our school decided to only allow seniors to be inducted, raised the GPA requirement, and reduced the amount of people that would be allowed to be inducted I wasn’t sure if my goal would still be attainable. But after three years of strenuous classes, constant volunteer service, and keeping my grades up I finally received an acceptance letter and was inducted into NHS where I am able to surround myself with others that have the same academic goals as…
