I have found that Thomas P Stafford is an amazing man, not without flaws but everyone should strive to be like him. He puts his best effort into everything he does and I can't help but feel like I want to be that kind of person. I never knew a lot about astronauts I just always assumed they were scientists that had been chosen for the flight but it turns out most were actually pilots as I guess they have to be since they are flying a rocket. So I found that I really was connected to this man in a lot of ways that I haven't even thought of, like how he was in the Air Force just like my dad and he might have even met him. Or that in Oklahoma where I grew up there was a statue of him right at the museum, he even has an airport named after him,
