In each era appeared new artists in caricature. Some of caricaturists are old from many years, and some of them modern. Thomas Nast was oldest caricaturist, he was the first great American cartoonist. He was born in27, Sept, 1940 in Germany. He died in Dec. 7, 1902. He studied art at the National Academy of Design and at the age of 15 became designer for Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper. He used caricature to fight for political he felt were worthy and necessary. He had spent forty-seven years as a cartoonist and had illustrated more than one hundred books.
