During his lifetime, he changed and critiqued America with his ideas of democracy and core political values. From nothing but a weak government, he changed this nation from an inferior force, to a global powerhouse. His classical culture and brilliant goals are almost unheard of in today's society, but why would I really want to meet this founding father? Thomas Jefferson's career is laced with numerous accomplishments, which is one of the reasons I would love to have dinner with him. Although I feel as if he would rather shift the discussion towards my character, I would not hesitate to discuss his achievements. Rising to fame during the Revolutionary War as a member of the Second Continental Congress, Jefferson drafted the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, which was the general model for the First …show more content…

Thomas Jefferson is often remembered as one of the greater presidents of the United States of America. He led the country during the infantile stages of America and arising hostilities between the two world powers, Britain and France. Many speak fondly of Jefferson when they dwell on the former leaders of the United States. Despite his popularity among fellow Americans, I believe that Thomas Jefferson does not deserve his ranking as a “Great American President” due to his determination to establish his idea of “peaceful coercion” with Britain and France. Following the Louisiana Purchase, Napoleon provoked a renewal of his war with Britain that lasted eleven years.…

He worked in the Continental Congress, as Virginia representative and as wartime Governor of Virginia at the start of American Revolution (1779–1781). He was voted as the U. After his election as the Vice President in 1796, he opposed John Adams, and they secretly wrote Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, to nullify Alien and Sedition Acts.…
