In 1628 Hobbes translated from Greek the Thucydides History of the Peloponnesian War it was the first translation in English. He did not extend his studies and writing into philosophy unit after 1629 when his employer died during the plague. After his employer’s death, his widow discontinued Hobbes employment. He found work again as a tutor, and he started broadening his knowledge of philosophy and his curiosity grew over philosophic debates. It was during his years working as a tutor that he travels and meets Galilieo Galilei and Johannes Kepler who were changing the philosophical order. He began explaining nature, man, citizenship, and how motion affected them. Because of political arrest in England in 1837 he fled to Paris where he worked on man and citizenship.
