During 17th centuries, the black, were brought to America from Africa and sold as slaves to work in commercial crops industry, especially in sugar and cotton industry. They were forced to transport across the Atlantic and many of them died in the slave ships. They are known as the black slaves and had given of no rights by their owners, the whites, and been treated poorly and no different as animals or machines. By the mid- 19th century, the American has expanded its territories westward, along with such expansion, the anti- slavery movement in North grow rapidly. During the 1860s, the anti- slavery’s union provoked a national debate over slavery that helps precipitate the American Civil War. The Union has won in the debate and the four million slaves in Nation were given freedom. Such abolition of slavery occurs in 1865. United States Constitution was ratified, outlawing the production of slavery.
