Trying to survive in poverty every day is a struggle for the Haitians, but they are used to the conditions and some are able to make it through the days. Living in poverty means there are limited resources for everything including food, clean water, shelter and clothing. The food is so scarce in Haiti that they are forced to make cookies out of mud just to keep their stomachs full.
