Things I Learned In A Catholic School

Decent Essays
Another thing I have learned from being educated in a Catholic School is being able to trust and rely in God. Ever since I was a kid, I knew everything is possible through God. It is a habit to go to church every sunday and pray to God three times a day. For kids who haven’t grown up in a Catholic school, it probably would be abnormal to pray everyday or go to church every week. God has taken such a big part in my life. When times can be tough, I know I can come to school and know it will get better because I am surrounded by God. I can turn to him because I trust in him and I know he will get me through

The essay “Dumb Kids' Class” falls under the personal essay it’s written from the author´s individual experience. It wouldn´t be able to fit under any one of the other essay categories depending on how the essay is interpreted by the reader, it could be any of the three groups of essay categories. I personally interpreted this essay as being a personal essay, the author wrote it as it spoken directly to the reader from it being his personal experience. At the beginning the author gives his opinion about how the Catholic school was not all for him, as for other kids, and it isn't as bad for others as some. “Astonishingly, was never struck by a nun or molested by a priest.”…

Instead of sending me to a local public school, my parents choose to send me to a private, catholic school. The schools differed in their learning quality and corresponded with our practicing religion. Although my parents did not struggle financially in sending me to a parochial school, they sacrificed money and time that could have otherwise been spent on other things. Students can take various lessons away from this memoir. The most important is the value of their education and overlooked opportunities…

Around the 1500s, the Reformation began, causing a massive uproar throughout all of Europe, and as a result many Catholics converted to Protestantism. One group of the Counter-Reformers who tried to go against this movement were the Jesuits.
