Things Fall Apart Imperialism Analysis

With the change in status between the people they began to learn a new way of living where an outside group comes in and rules over them. Umuofia’s village people had political system, cultural beliefs/practices in their own way and they lived them out due to what they believed in along with what they system fulfilled throughout the years. Imperialism and Colonialism played a big role in the change of political, economic, and cultural in the people of Umuofia, Okonkwo's village in Things Fall Apart. So, I will offer insight on both imperialism and colonialism and the impact they had on each political, economic, and cultural view when it comes out to the way the economy after the arrival of the British.

Colonialism is when a major power or country is steadily incorporating so as to grow contiguous domain and settling its people on recently acquired land and territory. The old Greeks set up settlements as did the Romans, the Moors, and the Ottomans, to give some examples of the most acclaimed samples. In the book an example of this is Okonkwo. Okonkwo is gotten amidst the political and social pressures between the settlers and the villagers, and amidst the generational battle of the individuals who need to be more like the Europeans and the individuals who need to stick their heads in the sand and/or attempt to keep up the customary ways.
