Every family has a place that they like to go every year, and my families place is Ontario, Canada. We drove and drove and drove and drove and drove for days! Well, actually it was only fourteen hours, but it felt like eternity. We stayed at a place called Stanley’s Resort and everyone there was very friendly and would make an effort to get to know you. We went with my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, and my parents and siblings. At the resort, we stayed in a gorgeous cabin and near our cabin there was a swimming area. There was a diving board, a curly slide and if you walk a ways you will see a large cliff to jump off. From the top of the cliff it was about twenty feet to the water. The cliff was very intimidating when you looked down into the churning, cold, murky water. Standing on top of the cliff, I can barely hear the muffled words of encouragement over the whistling wind. I can taste the lake water spraying me every time a gust of wind blows. I can almost imagine the process in my head; running cautiously to the edge so you don't slip, hesitating because you are wondering what on earth you are doing jumping off a cliff, and then taking the plunge and pushing off the rocky surface with your feet. The ride is the one of those van-stuffed-full-of luggage-and-random-limbs-draped-everywhere kind of rides but if you're like me and you sleep like a bear the entire ride, you can lay your head on the person next to you . I slept approximately twelve of the fourteen hours, but the two hours that I was awake was when we stopped for food and a restroom break. When I was awake, I could slowly see the trees start to change, and feel the temperature get cooler. Canada is such a beautiful place to go and it never gets old. If your family doesn’t have a place that they like to go, I recommend Canada for
