How to Love by Thich Nhat Hanh is a powerful book of poetry about love. Many ideas and thoughts on love were presented, but one, in particular, stood out to me.
“’Love’ is a beautiful word, and we have to restore its meaning.” (Hanh, 48). This particular quote made me think about how people in society today use the word ‘love’. Whenever people come across something or someone that they like even the most remote amount, they would use the word ‘love’ when talking about how they feel about it. This same idea goes for the word ‘hate’, as well. Any form of dislike for something or someone would result in that person using that word. Both words seem to have lost their true meaning over time. You shouldn’t be using such strong and powerful words
