A young woman looked at me with desperation and hope. As single mom with little education, but a great talent for cooking she had a dream. No longer would she waste her life in menial low-income jobs. She planned to start a food service company to bring her delectable treats to everyone from the man sitting in the street to the veterans at the military base. This was not a business she did for herself; instead it was to fill a community for healthy and delicious food and to build a better life for her daughter. I looked at her young child dressed in rags and the young mom trying her best to elude professionalism, knowing she probably spent one of her last dollars on an ill-fitting business suit, likely from a thrifty store. My heart broke as I realized that in my current position at the bank there was nothing I could do to make her dream a reality. I wondered, could I do something different so that in the future I could help people like this distraught woman. The answer came quickly. Yes!

Thus, I embarked on a career in business development and education at a local bank. Over the past three years, I have expanded my financial and business knowledge exponentially. Realizing that knowledge must precede all else, I have mastered the art of developing strategic initiatives and partnerships to facilitate entrance into new markets.
